About
I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Member (CPsychol) of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I currently work as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in a NHS Adult Community Mental Health Team. Before this I was the Clinical Lead in a NHS specialised personality disorder service.
I have a wealth of experience treating a variety of mental health issues, including relationship difficulties, disordered eating and body issues, sexuality, poor self confidence and interpersonal challenges. I believe psychotherapy should be a safe space in which you can explore yourself and your difficulties in order to live a more fulfilled life.
Before moving to the UK I ran a successful private practice for 13 years in Johannesburg, South Africa. In addition, I worked as a lecturer and clinical supervisor on the Clinical Psychology training programme at the University of the Witwatersrand and the Registered Counsellor and Counselling Psychology professional training programmes at Pearson Institute of Higher Education. I taught undergraduate and postgraduate psychology classes and supervised postgraduate research. Prior to that I worked as the lead psychologist on the eating disorder and adolescent ward at Tara Psychiatric Hospital. Between 2008 and 2017 I provided medico-legal services to a number of Johannesburg law practices. I undertook medico-legal assessments for MVA, personal injury and medical negligence claims.
